Heat Staking Small Auto Parts on a Rotary Table

This video showcases a Thermal Press International C-Series machine performing a precision heat staking operation on two small automotive components simultaneously. The application features split-level plastic posts, requiring controlled heat and pressure to form consistent, reliable stakes across multiple heights.

The system is equipped with a rotary table, which significantly improves throughput by allowing part loading and unloading to occur in parallel with the heat staking cycle. As one fixture is positioned under the thermal head for staking, the adjacent station is accessible to the operator, reducing idle time and increasing overall efficiency.

Custom-designed fixturing ensures accurate part placement and repeatability throughout the process. This example highlights the capability of TPI’s thermal assembly solutions to handle complex geometries while maintaining consistent quality and process control in demanding automotive applications.
