In this application, the bioreactor bag is loaded into a custom-engineered fixture designed to support accurate and repeatable positioning. The nest incorporates four precision locating pins that align the bag consistently for each cycle, ensuring proper placement of the sealing area relative to the thermal tooling. This level of control is essential when working with flexible films and multilayer materials commonly used in bioprocessing bags.
The system is equipped with a power shuttle table that enhances both operator ergonomics and proudction efficiency. While the operator loads and unloads the bag at the home position, the shuttle indexes the fixture into the ssealing area beneath the thermal head. This configuration supports a smooth, repeatable workflow and helps maintain consistent cycle timing across production runs.
During the sealing process, the thermal head applies controlled heat and pressure to bond the bag materials along the designated seal path. Critical process parameters – including temperature, dwell time, and applied force – are precisely managed to achieve strong, uniform seals without damaging the film or comprmising the integrity of the bag.
